This is a very nice high quality French 16 bore double barrel flintlock shotgun, marked on the locks by maker ALARY of GRENOBLE. We were not able to find much on this maker from the southeast of France, but other examples we have seen indicate manufacture during the 1750 1770 period. This definitely puts this before French Revolution, and as with all firearms from the period, it was lucky to survive that tumultuous
