This is a nice well patinated English Pattern of 1740 Officers Sword, with a very distinctive perforated half basket flat steel guard. This type of sword was used In Both French and Indian Wars Of 1756 1763 and throughout the Revolutionary War 1775 1783. It features a 28 3 4" curved blade, with a wire bound black horn grip. The condition is quite nice, with a lovely old patina, looking like it just came off the wall
