It is an official propaganda photo that shows a wounded Senior Lieutenant and Company Leader giving instructions to a messenger. The officer wears an Iron Cross 1st Class, a Panzer Badge, and two Tank Destruction Badges. The photo was taken during a battle against partisans in Drvar (modern day western Bosnia and Herzegovina) by a man named Henisch of the Propaganda Company 693 on June 1, 1944.
