Original WWI French Brandt Type B Model 1916 Pneumatic Mortar- Dated 1916 MG 34 Pistol Grip Assembly Original Item: Selections vary inOriginal Item: Mortar designs of WW1 number in the hundreds, but one of the most unique is the Brandt pneumatic mortar. It was introduced in 1915 by the French and was eventually copied by the Germans. The type B was smaller then the first 1915 model and was comprised of cast aluminum. The 40. 5 inch barrel was mounted on a cast aluminum, fixed angle of 42 mount. It was fired by air pressure with a system of tanks and pistons. It fired a 60mm shell.
