This is most unusual and in exceptional condition. Beautifully made, almost certainly, for at an Officer's request, this pistol has an octagonal 8" smooth bore barrel fitted with a swivel captured ramrod, allowing re loading whilst on horseback. All brass mounts with CROWN over V. R. together with ENFIELD 1863 all upon the lock plate. Very possibly intended for service in INDIA, as by this time "rifled" weapons were
