Germany, HJ. A Mint Field Cap Democratic Republic of the obverse illustrating an Italian soldier(HJ Sommer Mtze). An extremely well preserved HJ field cap, constructed of khaki tan cotton. The cap is fully surrounded by stylized side walls which are trimmed along the seam with red piping. Stitched onto the lower peak is an embroidered HJ insignia, measuring 15 mm (w) x 25 mm (h). The interior is fully encompassed by a multi piece golden brown rayon liner. A wide leather sweatband fully surrounds the lower edge, and folds down to reveal a
