This is an excellent lightly used example of a standard issue black leather hardshell holster for the Luger Pistole 08 (P. 08), which was used by German forces during WWI & WWII. Towards the end of WWI the standard color for pistol holsters was changed from brown to black, and that continued through the WWII Period. The back of the holster between the belt loops is marked: G.
