Germany, Imperial. A Black Grade Naval Wound Badge Hold having had his ear syringed(Verwundetenabzeichen der Marine in Schwarz). Constructed of blackened brass, the obverse consisting of an oval chain link wreath, surrounding a central anchor defaced by crossed swords on a pebbled background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 41. 15 mm (w) x 46. 08 mm (h), weighing 9. 6 grams, demonstrating loss of black finish throughout the base metal, in better than very
