The vineyards of the Cte du Py are situated on a large hill outside the quaint village of Villi Morgon, on soils of blue granite and schist, which have been said to come from lava deposits after ancient geological formations took their course. The soils are so friable, crumbly, and nutrient poor that the vines have to search even further down for nutrients. The fruit that results
