These were issued by The US Military for the burial of our soldiers who had fallen in battle. This would have draped across the coffin before burial. The flag is large and measures 4 x 6 feet. It is a sturdy cotton and has been stitched together. There are 48 stars on this flag. Cotton flags were issued during WWII and a nylon flag was issued during the Korean
