Vatican, Papal States. An Order of the Holy Sepulchre, Grand Officer Neck Badge in Case Auction 473 (26/9/1942)(Ordine del Santo Sepolcro Ordo Equestris Sancti Sepulcri Hierosolymitani = OESSH). Instituted in 1099, re organized in 1847. In silver gilt with red enamels, with trophy of arms suspension, measures 51. 6 mm (w) x 98. 8 mm (h inclusive of suspension), worn on a small segment of black neck ribbon, enamels intact but demonstrates heavy pitting, very fine. Contained in a Grand Officers case of issue, red leatherette exterior with velvet and silk
