with obverse centre exhibiting an enameled white Latin Cross with a blue enameled anchor in bronze gilt

embroidered in silvery-grey threads on black cotton

He obtained his medical degree at U of T in 1914 after attending Model Scholl and Upper Canada College

Germany, Imperial. A 1914 Iron Cross I Class Hold with maker’s mark on reverse(Eisernes Kreuz 1914 I. Klasse). Reinstituted 5 August 1914 by Kaiser Wilhelm II. (1914 1918 issue). Constructed of silvered and blackened magnetic metal, consisting of a Cross Patte with a blackened core within a ribbed and silvered magnetic frame, the obverse with a central initial W, the six oclock arm with a reinstitution date of 1914, the twelve oclock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round
