Just purchased out of an old collection, this is definitely an interesting specimen. This is a percussion trade musket out of India, probably dating from the 1850s 1860s. These were intended for local use, often sold to tourists as collectors items later on. The construction is quite primitive, with the barrel held to the stock by what look to be leather or gut strips, tied and dried into place. It follows the basic
