In our decades long work to develop vigorous miniature hostas, even we were surprised by the performance of this 2007 hybrid. The first in a series of complex crosses to develop Hosta 'Vanilla Bean' began in 1990 and include Hosta parents, 'Swoosh', 'Green Fountain', kikutii, longipes 'Tardiflora', venusta 'Minima', 'Cheatin' Heart',
