Newfoundland Volunteer War Service Medal Archive At the beginning of DecemberBronze, 37 mm, impressed on rim "3836", nice patina, extremely fine. In hardshelled case of issue, maker marked Royal Mint, with additional ribbon. RARE. Footnote: While the Second World War was being fought, Newfoundland was still a seperate British colony and did not enter Canadian Confederation until 1949.
